A seasoned affiliate will have a sizable mailing list, may be in the practice of reviewing similar products and making recommendations based on her findings and research, have a blog or other audience.

Some affiliates work through an established network like Clickbank, which handles much of the financial and technical aspects of internet marketing as well as acts as an educational portal to better equip its affiliate team to work effectively;  in return, it keeps a percentage of the product sale.

Marketers provide Affiliates with banner ads, advertising copy and links which are used on the Affiliate's website or email campaign, which take a customer to the marketer's website. When the customer makes a sale, the affiliate earns a commission, usually from 20 to 80% of the sale price.  The Music Alchemist Affiliates earn 50% commission.
